A Bench Built for Sensing and Motion

Applying a sensor or a driver correctly is as important as choosing the right part, and because the performance depends on the magnetic circuit, the current path and the thermal design, the integration decides how accurate and how reliable the system becomes. To support customers more effectively, BeiLuo has opened an FAE verification bench dedicated to Allegro MicroSystems sensors and drivers. The bench lets our engineers measure the magnetic field, the sensing accuracy and the thermal behavior before a customer commits to a design, turning advice into evidence.

The bench complements the stock program announced in July. Where the stocking program answers the question of whether a part is available, the new bench answers the question of whether the part will perform in a specific application. Together they let BeiLuo support a design from selection through validation, rather than only at the point of sale.

What We Measure

The bench is equipped with a magnetic field source and a calibrated gaussmeter, precision sources and meters, a thermal chamber, electronic loads and a high-bandwidth oscilloscope with a current probe. Engineers measure the magnetic field at the sensor across the travel range, the sensor output and its noise, the current sensor accuracy against a reference, and the case temperature of a driver at worst-case load and ambient. For a magnetic design the bench confirms the field range and the appropriate sensitivity, and for a driver it confirms the current limit and the thermal margin.

Magnetic Field and Sensor Output

A calibrated field source and a gaussmeter let the bench characterize the field a target magnet produces at the sensor, so the sensitivity can be chosen to keep the output in range and give a good signal. The bench then records the sensor output, its offset and its noise at the ends of the range, which shows whether the magnetic circuit meets the accuracy budget.

Current Accuracy and Driver Thermal

For a current sensor the bench compares the output against a reference current across the range, which verifies the sensitivity and the total error. For a motor driver it measures the coil current waveform and the case temperature at worst-case load, which confirms the current limit and the thermal margin and shows whether the layout and the copper area are enough.

From Selection to Validation

When a customer asks which device suits their design, our FAE team can now validate the recommendation on the bench. We measure the field and the sensor output, or the current and the driver temperature, compare the result with the datasheet expectation and confirm the margin. The result is a design path backed by measured data, which reduces the risk of late-stage surprises and shortens the path to a reliable design.

Thermal and Accuracy Projection

The bench measures the case temperature of a driver at worst-case load and ambient and lets us project the thermal margin from the power dissipation and the thermal resistance, and it measures the sensor accuracy over temperature. That turns a device choice into a verified decision rather than an estimate.

Supporting a Design End to End

The bench is a support tool, not a test house, and it is strongest when used early. A typical engagement starts with a selection question, moves to a bench check of the chosen device under the customer's conditions, and ends with a validated recommendation for the part and the layout. Because BeiLuo holds the devices in regional stock, the validated part can then move quickly to a sample and a production order.

How to Use the Bench

Customers can request a bench evaluation by sending their field or current range, the supply, the ambient and the accuracy target to the BeiLuo team. Our engineers will set up the test, measure the key parameters and share the results with a design recommendation. Because the bench and the stock program work together, a customer can validate a device on the bench and then hold production stock within the same week. The bench is one more reason to treat BeiLuo as a technical partner for Allegro devices rather than a simple parts supplier.

Results are shared as a short report with the measured field, the sensor output and the driver case temperature, so the design team can keep the evidence with the design file and compare a later revision against it.
